Press Release: Fresno Chamber of Commerce inaugurates Women in Business Summit

The Fresno Chamber of Commerce continues to reinforce its commitment to helping the area’s business community create connections and strengthen relationships through an inaugural event — the Women in Business Summit.

The Women in Business Summit, held June 28 at The Falls Event Center from 4 to 7 p.m., will spotlight the thriving community of women professionals and give business owners an opportunity to connect with other business leaders and the community.

The Summit will kick-off with a three-woman panel discussion moderated by CBS47 Anchor and Reporter Kathryn Herr featuring panelists Irma L. Olguin, CEO & Co-Founder of Bitwise Industries; Debbie L. Hunsaker, President & CEO of Alert-O-Lite Inc.; and Katie Zenovich, Senior Vice President for Development and External Affairs CEO of Community Medical Foundation. The three exemplary business leaders will be sharing the experiences they have faced during their journey as women in the business industry.

Once the discussion concludes, the doors of the trade show will open where dozens of women owned/directed businesses will showcase their services, products and their passion to the attendees. The community, career professionals, and business owners will all have the opportunity to connect and engage with each other, which the Chamber hopes will create a life-long impact in each of the women’s lives.

“We want to create a place where all female business professionals from all backgrounds can connect with each other; from self-employed skin care consultants to executives,” Director of Operations Angela Vasquez said.

According Vasquez The Chamber has talked about hosting an event focusing on women in business for a few years and the organization’s leaders thought this year was the right time to host.

“We see this event growing every year,” Vasquez said. “Not only in the number of attendees, but we’d like to reach surrounding cities as well.”

The Women in Business Summit is open to all community — members and non-members. Registration for the summit will close June 22. Interested participants can find more information and/or register for the event at
